I awoke one morning
And felt so stressed
So I said a prayer
Then I felt blessed



I heard no answer
But it was clear
That those words I’d spoken
My God did hear



Throughout my life
I’ve seen people born and die
I’ve watched them laugh
And I’ve watched them cry



Sometimes it’s hard
To know what to do
So at those times
Try to be just you



Reach out and touch
If that’s what they need
And you’ll feel rewarded
For that small deed



Look at the newborn
Recall the stories told
If taught to believe
They never will grow old



It occurs to all
We just know not when
Our Earthly life
Will come to an end



Before that time
Be sure you’ve confessed
For you know then
You will be blessed



You may be rich
You may be poor
No matter what
There’s room at the door



Just show some compassion
And mercy too
So that others
Can see the real you



For as they see you
Show that you try
It’s the same that God sees
From way up high



Give praise to those
Who earn it most
And do not forget
Father, Son and Holy Ghost



So you might awake
And you might feel stressed
But if you stop for a prayer
You’ll soon be blessed

The Beatitudes

Matthew Chapter 5
Verses 3 ~ 11
(KJV)


(3) Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

(4) Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.

(5) Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the Earth.

(6) Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled.

(7) Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy.

(8) Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.

(9) Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God.

(10) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake; for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

(11) Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
