Did you ever suffer heartbreak?
When your lover said goodbye,
They had found somebody else,
Left you alone to cry.
Did you ever feel unwanted?
With nothing left to give.
Thought just for a fleeting moment,
Gone was the need to live.
Did you ever then consider?
In spite of your lost lover,
That somewhere amongst the people,
There’s sure to be another.
Did you ever finally notice?
No matter how the net was cast,
Those things that once did happen,
Belonged back in the past.
Did you then look to the future?
As far as you could see,
Found someone very special,
Said, "This is the one for me."
Did it finally dawn upon you?
Past loves were just a test,
So when that special one did come,
You’d know you got the best.
