Missing You

Where are you now my darling?
Why did you have to leave?
Because no matter what you’re doing,
In you I still believe.

It started out so beautiful,
When our eyes did meet that day,
Then I held you to me closely,
You promised you would stay.

Your words are with me always,
Said you’d be mine for evermore,
But suddenly you’ve left me,
And why I am not sure.

When I awoke this morning,
I found you had departed,
And through the tears that filled my eyes,
I thought back to when we started.

Sitting here so very lonely,
For together we belong,
Now you have chosen just to leave me,
Did I do something that was wrong?

Forgive me please my darling,
If that should be so true,
Because I want you back beside me,
As my heart belongs to you.

Without you here my loved one,
I feel the need to cry,
Not only have you left me,
But I don’t know the reason why.

My loneliness tears at me,
With a pain that will not cease,
A heart that still beats strongly,
But torn from piece to piece.

If someday you read these words I’ve written,
Then think back to the very start,
Is there somewhere deep within you?
A place for me in your heart.

You said once that you loved me,
Were those words just filled with lies?
All those glorious times together,
Were they part of your disguise?

So, if you really loved me,
With a love that was so true,
Then come back home my sweetheart,
Because I’m missing you.
