Who was the greatest person
That you have ever seen
Where was the greatest place
That you have ever been
How do we measure greatness
Is it in what we do believe
Or is it much more complex
In what we do achieve
Have met so many people
Travelled near and far
No matter where I've been on Earth
They all have left a scar
That scar may be a short one
Or indelible in one's mind
Somewhere you will have met them
Those that are one of a kind
Of course there's friends a plenty
On your travels through your life
But only few will stand beside you
When you fail and meet with strife
It's those few you must remember
And never do forget
They chose to stand and guide you
And you never felt in debt
A measure of true friendship
Is to give without a thought
Of what you may receive in return
For the fight that you have fought
So the greatest place that I have been
Is where I've never felt alone
There is no other like it
When my house became a home
And the greatest person
I have met in all my life
Is the one that I refer to
Simply, my darling wife
