The Night
The night sky is so different,
Than the one we see by day,
For days may bring the sunlight,
But at night stars lead the way.
The sky is filled with many stars,
Some that shine so bright,
Others seem to twinkle,
They are all a part of night.
Stars are always out there,
Some near, and some so far,
The brightest of them all of course,
Is the twinkling morning star.
So make the morning star,
The symbol to the end,
Of your own special loved one,
All other stars your friends.
You may just then consider,
How fortunate you are,
If you were to simply have a friend,
For every single star.
Yes, although the night may always,
Seem so dark and dim,
You can use it just to welcome,
Your long lost friends back in.
Remember that your friends,
Are just like the night-time star,
You may not always see them,
But look and there they are.
Of course the very special,
Shines brightest in the dawn,
So have a thought for loved one,
The first thing every morn.
‘Twill set for you the standard,
Of the day that’s soon so bright,
And you can love them deeply,
Till next you see the night.
The night sky can be so precious,
If you use it just to ponder,
Think of all the people you hold dear,
And sit in awesome wonder.
It is just then you realise,
How small you are as man,
Small yes, but most important,
A part of God’s best plan.
You may not sense your value,
Even question, it is true,
But like the stars that shine above,
Your worth will then shine through.
Your value to this world,
Whatever it may be,
Is like the stars in the night sky,
For others just to see.
So on the next clear starry night,
Just stop a while and think,
Enjoy creation at its best,
And every star will blink.
It will blink a lovely message,
Asking you to just give,
A moments thought to those so dear,
No matter where they live.
For the night may be so different,
From one in which sun does shine,
But it can be your great reminder,
To remember all the time.
For in those very memories,
You’ll see paths you have trod,
But whilst recalling loved ones,
Do not forget your God.
